Hiring a design company or an interior designer is not likely in the budget for everyone. So we have come up with a few tips that could help you.
#1 – Take measurements of your new space, this will give you an idea of how much square footage you have to work with and combine those measurements with how big your furniture is.
#2 – Take pictures of the space as well, so if there is a wall vent, electrical outlet or staircase in the space you will have a better idea of where furniture can go.
#3 – Draw up a floor plan, if you don’t feel like you can do this by hand try drawing something out on the computer. Then you will easily be able to add, move or take away items of furniture until you are happy with the layout.
#4 – If you happen to be hiring a moving company, talk to them. They will be able to help you decide which items will fit best in which areas.
