Choosing the Right Mover

CHOOSING THE RIGHT MOVING COMPANY

Once you have finally made the jump and decided to move, we imagine that there is a million and one things going through your head. And the last thing you want to stress about is finding a moving company to help you, and even beyond that trying to find a moving company that is reliable!

We’ve got a couple tips and tricks that we suggest you read through before you put a final deposit down on your move.

We suggest that you start searching for a moving company early, the longer you leave it the more stressed you could become. Also, if you are looking for a moving company available very last minute and they are able to accommodate whatever you are looking for, that could probably be a bad sign.

Take a look at plenty of online reviews for moving companies in your area and focus on what other customers have said about the company. If you do notice some poor reviews by people, take a look to see if the company responded and how they responded.

If you have any special products like a piano, chandelier, or large antique furniture make sure that you speak with the moving companies about these items and make sure that they have a plan in place for these types of items. You want to make sure that these companies you are trusting to move your items know what they are doing, especially if you have some uncommon items.

Get written estimates from companies to compare them to one another, if you anything stands out when you are looking it over ask the sales person and they should be able to easily and quickly explain the information to you.

Make sure you find out what is included in your move, typically if you want your items packed and unpacked that will be an extra charge. Depending on the distance between each location there could be a mileage fee, or crating charges, or storage charges and the list could go on. But a reputable company will make sure you are aware of all the costs prior to moving and will answer any questions you may have.

Find a balance between the quality of company and their price, you will inevitably find some movers who are very cheap but at the end of the day you may sacrifice the quality of your move if you go for the cheapest option. It could be worth it in the end if you pay a little more for your move, and don’t have to deal with a large number of damages.

Once you have done some research and spoken to a number of companies, use your best judgement to make a decision on which one to go with. At the end of the day, your personal judgement is the only part that you can really trust.
